Level 3 Certificate in Canine Studies

This certificate, which is externally verified by OCN West Midlands, and is accredited 24 credits by OFQUAL, has been developed to provide detailed underpinning knowledge of canine care and welfare.

The course comprises multi-faceted learning styles and students enrolled on this programme will benefit from continuous mentoring from two experienced tutors and internal assessors.

The Certificate in Canine Studies does not include any training or handling; rather it is a home study course that concentrates on underpinning knowledge required for Canine Professionals.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded your Level 3 Certificate in Canine Studies and accredited 24 learning credits.

We are offering a choice of units in order to complete the certificate and gain your 24 OFQUAL regulated credits.

This route meets the new Defra guidelines for Pet Boarding, Pet Sitting and Home boarding. If you are looking to complete this certificate to meet the DEFRA higher standard guidelines then you would either need to have handling experience as noted in the above guidance pdf or enrol on the Level 3 certificate in Canine Training & Behaviour, which will commence on the 10th May and includes a two day workshop.

The Level 3 Certificate in Canine Studies begins on 10th April 2019 and is limited to 8 spaces.

The course fee, inclusive of registration, is £450 and is taught over 4 months, however, should you wish to complete both the Anatomy & Physiology Unit and the Providing Professional Day Care and Boarding Services Unit, then the time required to complete the Certificate is 5 months and the fee will be £550.

    There are three payment options available for this Certficate:
  • Paid in full upon registration
  • Registration fee of £150 followed by 3 monthly payments of £100
  • Registration fee of £150 followed by 4 monthly payments of £100

Once completed your work is then externally verified by Open College Network West Midlands
